About Black River PUblic SChoolS

Black River Public School is a not-for-profit, state-funded school chartered by Grand Valley State University in Holland, Michigan.

Serving students in grades K-12, it accommodates individual learning styles with its college preparatory liberal arts middle and high school, Montessori-based elementary school, and integrated curriculum. Black River is a place for any student, regardless of their school district, to experience the joys of learning in a smaller class-size environment that fosters participation, responsiveness, and experiential learning.

Ranked the best in the area (49423/4 zip codes), top 5% of all high schools nationwide by US News, and #23 Best School District in Michigan out of 562 by Niche, Black River serves nearly 1,000 students and over 640 families.

Raise Money

Rather than selling, selling, selling, and only receiving a portion of the money,  the RatRaiser is designed to maximize the support of our community. With the support of our generous sponsors, 100% of student-raised funds go directly toward supporting the school.

Event activities

Come for the fun carnival games, and stay for the ticket booth, inflatables, musicdunk tankface painting, yard games, and pizza, this year’s RatRaiser will great fun!

 

Also, stop by the Community Action House Table and bring non-perishable food for their food drive! (Each individual can earn 1 Premium Activity Ticket simply by donating food)!

Get ready to have a blast by playing exciting games and winning awesome prizes! Not only will you have lots of fun, but you’ll also earn rewards and help us reach our school goals. Make sure to enter our raffle too, because you could win big! Remember, even a small contribution from everyone can make a big difference for our school!

 

Activities for everyone

Student groups will be leading activities from the traditional carnival games (in the Lyceum) to Face Painting, dunk tank, inflatables and bounce houses, ticket cube machine, concessions and more!

We know. People are more likely to donate when they know where the money is going. Check out the critical social-emotional activities that the money funds below!

Step 4: SHARE via social media, email, or in person! Cash and checks can still be collected and return using the envelope provided and will be collected and updated intermittently.

*Raffle tickets may only be picked up from registration envelopes, purchased, or won in ticket cube AND submitted on the day of the event. Each ticket must be filled out with name and phone number. Tickets without a legible name and phone number will be redrawn.

*Each Elementary student will receive ONE additional green raffle ticket for an opportunity to win special Elementary prizes. These will be drawn separately from the main raffle.
